The last six months of the year has been very productive for UP Cebu’s Teaching and Learning Resource Center (TLRC). It has conducted a series of successful webinars via Zoom and YouTube live. This is made possible through the office’s partnership with the Technology Transfer and Business Development Office (TTBDO) of the University as well as several other offices from UP Cebu. The office’s public service endeavor has accumulated a good number of learners who also follows it social media platforms for the webinar schedules.
The webinars organized by TLRC come in different series including Psychosocial Development Series, Teaching and Learning Series, and Intellectual Property and or Business Series. The topics for these series are made mostly for the academe or for teachers and students. So far, the office has conducted more than 20 webinars, reruns included.
The first few public webinars had only around 60 participants. Now, almost all webinars reach full capacity (300 participants) on Zoom and is now extended to YouTube live through TLRC’s official channel. The highest number of participants a webinar had was around 1,400. One reason on the increase of participants is because of the timely topics that our webinars offer. However, what makes it more attractive to the viewers is the quick access to the free e-certificates that the office distributes via email after each webinar. The e-certificates are actually automated which lets one participant receive it just a few minutes after answering the evaluation for the event. Isn’t that awesome?
As the year ends, TLRC has made sure that the viewers will not miss our webinars too much as we are brewing a new set of webinars just for you for the following year. Our office wishes to deliver important materials that are helpful in the development of teaching and learning, not just in UP Cebu, but to the whole country as well.
