Forging Partnerships
As the country celebrates the National Science and Technology Week 2021 under the mandates of the DOST, the UP Cebu hosted webinars in line with the celebration with Mr. Jason Nieva as the university’s overall coordinator, which also tapped us here at TLRC for the pre and post activities of the event. A total of five webinars has been concluded scheduled last 23-25 of November. The UP Cebu GAD office also tapped us for the partnership for their scheduled API activities from November to December this year.
An Extended run of TLRC/TTBDO Webinars
Last October 30, the TLRC launched our back-to-back webinar to highlight the season break of our webinars, as we need to plan and reboot our future activities. Mr. Jason Nieva of TTBDO, ask us if we are still able to conduct webinars since his office has still unrealized planned webinars. As always, we are more than happy to accept the challenge.

GAD Scheduled Webinars
In line with the Philippine Commission on Women’s (PCW) 2021 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women, the UP Cebu Gender and Development Office tapped us for a partnership to conduct free webinars to the public especially on the topic of Safe Spaces. The three-part webinar will run on Saturdays from November 27 to December 11 and will feature speakers knowledgeable on the field from the UP System.

National Science and Technology Week 2021
Last November 24, 2021 until November 26, 2021, UP Cebu celebrated the National Science & Technology Week (NSTW) 2021 with a series of webinars which focuses on the various scientific innovations and research projects contributed by the University to the public. Hosted by UP Cebu’s NSTW Committee with Mr. Jason Nieva as committee head, in partnership with DOST, NSTW 2021 kicked off with the theme, “Agham at Teknolohiya: Tugon sa Hamon ng Panahon”
FABLAB: Creating with the Community Amidst a Disaster
The webinar showcases the projects and initiatives or partnered with Fablab. It includes the 3DM Board Collective, Kalibutan Project, Lift, and Project Lelic PH.
PROJECT ABAG: Helping Communities Through Research
The webinar featured the research of the UP Cebu faculty on their Ph.D. dissertation, funded and collaborated with DOST.
Going UP: Usapang Pananaliksik
The webinar feature more of the research by our faculty members that are funded by DOST. Most of this research done was on the faculty’s Ph.Dd dissertation.
KLIK-LAKBAY: A Metaverse Experience
The webinar featured Metaverse, a local startup that has partnered with UP Cebu inIT and TTBDO. Their product focuses on virtual tours and creating virtual tour googles. To show what they can, they also feature in the webinar the Virtual Tour of UP Cebu using their technology.
REBOOT: Teaching Robotics in an Online Environment
The webinar shows the importance of the subject matter. It showcases products and that high school student was able to come up with their robotics subjects. It also shows how teaching robotics has been carried out during this remote setup.
